Core Functions: Assists physicians during surgeries,
treatments, and examinations. Administers medications.
Assists in convalescence and rehabilitation.
Develops and manages nursing care plans and
instructs patients and their families in proper
care. Maintains medical records. May act as
team leader, or as Charge Nurse, when necessary.
Requirements: 1+ year of nursing experience,
Nursing degree and RN license required. Must
be able to maintain current licenses, which
may involve continuing education.

Core Functions: Performs a wide variety of patient
care activities in selected and assigned nursing
situations, such as acute care facilities, nursing
homes, and clinics. Provides basic bedside care
and takes vital signs. Prepares and gives injections
and enemas, monitors catheters, applies dressings,
treats bedsores, and gives alcohol rubs and
massages. Monitors patients and reports adverse
reactions to medications or treatments. Collects
samples for testing, performs routine laboratory
tests, feeds patients, and records food and
fluid intake and output. May administer prescribed
medicines or start intravenous fluids. May help
deliver, care for, and feed infants.
Requirements: 2+ years of health care experience
required. Must pass State board examination
and be licensed.

Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Core Functions: Performs a wide variety of custodial
care activities, working with patients or residents
of various facilities, including nursing homes,
clinics, and hospitals. Helps patients with
their Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such
as bathing, dressing, eating, trips to the rest
room, hair care and brushing teeth. Assists
with patient charting and organizing legal documentation.
May perform additional administrative work.
Requirements: Entry level position, typically
requiring a High School diploma or equivalent.
Medical Assistant certification preferred.

Core Functions: Oversees patient flow and organization
of work area. Performs administrative and clinical
tasks, such as answering telephones, greeting
patients, updating and filing patients' medical
records, completing insurance forms, handling
correspondence, scheduling appointments, arranging
for hospital admission and laboratory services,
and handling billing and bookkeeping. Acts as
a liaison between patients and physician. Provides
patient education.
Requirements: Medical Assistant certification
preferred.

Therapist (PT)
Core Functions: Provides services that help
restore function, improve mobility, relieve
pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical
disabilities of patients suffering from injuries
or disease. Works with accident victims and
individuals with disabling conditions such as
low-back pain, arthritis, heart disease, fractures,
head injuries, and cerebral palsy. Assists patients
with proper exercise and utilizes electrical
stimulation, hot packs, cold compresses, and
ultrasound to relieve pain and reduce swelling.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree from an accredited
Physical Therapist Educational Program and State
license required. Master's degree preferred.

Worker
Core Functions: Provides social services in
health-related settings. Helps patients’
function in their environment, manage relationships,
and solve personal and family problems. May
assist with research or policy development.
May assist clients who face a life-threatening
disease or a social problem such as inadequate
housing, unemployment, serious illness, disability,
or substance abuse. Often specialized in specific
client practice.
Requirements: Master's degree in Social Work
(MSW) and State license required.

Pharmacist NEW
Core Functions: Compounds and dispenses drugs
according to prescriptions issued by authorized
medical care providers in hospital pharmacy
or retail establishment. Interviews patients
regarding past medication history and allergies.
Provides patients with instructions and counseling
regarding medication. Provides information and
consultation to medical staff. Supervises work
of pharmacy technicians.
Requirements: Typically requires 3+ year of
experience. Bachelor’s of Science in Pharmacy
from an accredited school and State license
required.

Technician NEW
Core Functions: Assists Pharmacist in preparing
and dispensing medication in hospital pharmacy
or retail establishment. Mixes pharmaceutical
preparations, fills bottles with prescribed
tablets and capsules, and types labels for bottles.
Receives and stores incoming supplies. Counts
stock and enters data in computer to maintain
inventory records. Processes records of medication
and equipment dispensed to customer or hospital
patient, computes charges, and enters data in
computer.
Requirements: 6+ months previous experience
preferred. Current Pharmacy Technician license
required.

| Phlebotomist
NEW
Core Functions: Performs phlebotomy functions
and non-technical duties in areas including
he hospital laboratory, outpatient, and off-site
services. Performs phlebotomy (venipuncture,
fingerstick, heelstick and bleeding time) according
to established procedure. Identifies patients
and properly labels specimen tubes. Determines
priority of STAT draws. Ensures timely transport
of all patient specimens to lab for testing.
Requirements: Typically an entry level position
requiring little to no experience. Certified
or eligible for certification with National
Phlebotomy Association preferred.

Technologist NEW
Core Functions: Operates Magnetic Resonance
Imaging (MRI) equipment to produce cross-sectional
images (photographs) of patient's body for diagnostic
purposes. Enters data into computer such as
patient history, anatomical area to be scanned,
orientation specified, and position of entry
into aperture of MRI equipment.
Requirements: 6+ months of related experience
preferred. Current certification by the American
Registry of Radiologic Technology, Radiologic
Technologist license, and CPR card required.

Technologist NEW
Core Functions: Performs computerized tomographic
procedures. Performs CAT scans, radiographic
procedures at a technical level, including a
variety of technical procedures, which require
independent judgment for CAT scanning diagnosis.
Requirements: 6+ months of related experience
preferred. Current certification by the American
Registry of Radiologic Technology, Radiologic
Technologist license, and CPR card required.

Core Functions: Transcribes recorded dictation
for physicians, including dictation relating
to office visits, surgery, x-ray reports, consultations,
and patient history. Organizes and evaluates
medical records for completeness and accuracy.
Requirements: Typically requires knowledge
of medical terminology and records methods.
Associate's degree required.

Core Functions: Assigns a code to each diagnosis
and procedure. Consults classification manuals.
Uses computer software to assign the patient
to one of several hundred diagnosis-related
groups (DRGs).
Requirements: Knowledge of DRG and other coding
systems required.

Core Functions: Maintains order of patient charts.
Files all correspondence, lab, and x-ray reports
as well as dictated notes into patient charts.
Photocopies patient records. Researches location
of charts and may provide back-up on phones.
Requirements: Entry level position, typically
requiring a High School diploma or equivalent.
Previous general clerical experience preferred.

Core Functions: Provides support with the daily
activities of a medical office including registration
and patient referrals. Organizes and maintains
a filing system for patient charts, including
generating chart numbers, filing, and pulling
charts. Answers telephone and either responds

Core Functions: Processes and reviews claims
for complete information and inputs data into
claims processing system. Reviews contracts
for appropriate insurance coverage and interprets
plan benefits for customers. Processes claims
within authorization requirements and refers
claims above authorization to senior level staff
or supervisor.
Requirements: 6+ months of claims or data entry
experience preferred. High school diploma or
equivalent required.
